Check-in is from 3pm and checkout is by 10am, which gives us time to get each pod ready between guests and gives you two evenings and one clear day in the middle. That middle day is the one people over-plan, so here's a version that leaves room to actually sit down.
Friday, from 3pm
Arrive, and don't go anywhere. Your hot tub is already up to temperature, towels and robes are in the pod, and the pods face south across the farm's own fields, so the light in the early evening is the best of the day. If you've added the BBQ hut to a Rose Pod stay, this is the night for it: the charcoal grill sits under a circular table with cushioned bench seating all the way round, and plates, glasses and condiments are provided, so you only need to bring the food.
Saturday morning: pick one hill
Conic Hill above Balmaha is twenty minutes away and gives you the classic panorama down the length of the loch. If you'd rather not give up the morning, Duncryne Hill near Gartocharn, known locally as The Dumpling, is seven minutes away and delivers an outsized view for the effort. Both are covered, with drive times, on the what's nearby page.
Saturday afternoon: the loch itself
Balloch Marina is five minutes from the farm, with boat trips out onto the loch and its thirty-odd islands. A minute further on, Loch Lomond Shores covers pedal boats, canoe hire, crazy golf, SEA LIFE and the Bird of Prey Centre, which is the one to head for if there are children in the party. Luss village, twenty-five minutes out, is the prettier option: conservation cottages, a pebble beach and a pier café.
Saturday evening: the other one
Whichever of the tub and the sauna you didn't do on Friday, do tonight. In the Thistle Pod that means the barrel sauna, then the hot tub under its gazebo. In the Rose Pod it means the chiminea lit on the decking beside the open-air tub.
Sunday, before 10am
Coffee on the decking looking out over open fields, and a last walk on the farm before you load the car. The walks start at the door, so there's no reason to drive anywhere on the last morning. If you want longer, the honest answer is to book three nights: the day you lose to travelling is the one you notice.
Booking is direct through our own system with no booking fee. Use Check dates for live prices and availability, or send us a note if you want to ask about the BBQ hut first.
